Irving is home to several notable residential and mixed-use developments. Among these is Las Colinas.
A master planned community, Las Colinas is recognized as a premier residential and business environment. Originally a rural area, the 12,000-acre development stands on what was once Hackberry Creek Ranch, also referred to as “El Ranchito de Las Colinas.” Within Las Colinas are 30 upscale residential neighborhoods housing 44,000 residents. Amenities include 190 acres of parks and greenbelts, 17 miles of canal waterways and 10 miles of riverside hiking and biking trails. Homeowners can take advantage of 100 restaurants, four 18-hole championship golf courses, three private clubs and an equestrian center.
The newest entertainment venue in the Metroplex is the Irving Music Factory. When completed, the multi-purpose dining and entertainment attraction will have more than 20 restaurants, a variety of shops and the Alamo Drafthouse movie theater.
One of North Texas’ most recognizable attractions is The Mustangs of Las Colinas featured in the courtyard of the Towers at Williams Square. Nearby is Mandalay Canal Walk linking office buildings, shops restaurants and green space with Lake Carolyn.
Las Colinas offers students an exceptional education through both the Carrollton-Farmers Branch School District and Irving Independent School District. Young residents attend either Las Colinas Elementary School or La Villita Elementary School. Other outstanding institutions include North Hills Preparatory, a K-12 International Baccalaureate school, and The Highlands School, a private Catholic preK -12 school.
Moving to Irving
The reasons to relocate to Irving are many. Irving boasts a wide range of events, attractions, and recreational activities. Festivals and events include the International Concert Series held each summer, Irving Main Street Event in the fall, Taste of Irving and Dallas Comic Con at the Irving Convention Center.
Families will enjoy paddle boarding and biking around Lake Carolyn, exploring Campion Trails, and cooling off at Cimarron Family Aquatic Park or West Irving Aquatic Center. Adults can hone their golf skills at five 18-hole courses within the city limits.
