Today we’d like to introduce you to Jumana Allan.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My name is Jumana Allan, I am a mother, wife and realtor. I graduated from UTD with my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2012. Right after graduation, I helped my husband manage his businesses, all while starting a family. I currently have 3 boys ages 10, 6, and 4. When I had my youngest, I began thinking of what I wanted to do for myself as a career. I always had an interest in real estate, but it was always “never the right time” for me. When my youngest was about a year and a half old, I decided to dive right into it. I took classes online, not knowing what to expect. Now, three years later- I am building a thriving business and part of the top producing team in my office.

I always knew that desk jobs weren’t for me. Yes, I do work from an office at times, but with real estate every single day is different. Every day I’m meeting someone new. I love everything about my job, I love building new relationships, I love the adrenaline I get while negotiating deals, It’s an adventure! I am currently a full-time agent serving the Dallas region, particularly the areas of Las Colinas, Allen, Plano, and Frisco.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
With everything, there are always obstacles and challenges. Balancing work, life and kids is never easy. I have always worked with my husband and off and on. I also was a stay at home over the years. Making that transition from being a stay at home mom to a fulltime realtor wasn’t easy at first. With real estate, you can’t actually make your schedule. For example, if there is an amazing home just hit the market, your client may call you and say I need to see this home in the next hour! The Dallas market is hot, especially in the summer, you have to move quick. With that comes sacrifices. I have had to miss school functions for my kids. I have had to be out with clients on the weekends. But it’s all about adjusting and making the best of things. Thankfully, my children have an amazing father, grandparents, and uncles that have stepped in and taken over when needed. It is always good to surround yourself with a good support system. With good support, you are able to get things done. Don’t ever be scared to ask for help. My oldest son is so proud of me, he always googles me and show his friends and classmates. That to me, is very rewarding. I love that I can set an example to him. I can be a mother, a wife and a businesswoman. I started my career at 27 and with 3 kids. One of them being a year old. It is never too late to start, you just have to believe in yourself and love what you do.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a full time realtor, I work with buyers, sellers and investors. I am part of a top producing team, The Dallas & Beyond Team. Our team motto is “Be humble, work with integrity and be accountable for every single client dollar.”

A real estate transaction is one of the biggest decisions in someone’s life, It is unbelievably rewarding to me when I can make this process a positive, stress-free experience. When my clients are satisfied, that’s the most gratifying part to me.

I have excellent back-end support on my team, so I am able spend more one-on-one time with my clients and give them that extra personal attention. My team consists of transaction coordinator, stager, marketer and five realtors. We make sure that our clients are our number one priority, and that we are always available to them from start to finish. We don’t look at our clients as transaction. We make sure our clients are making the right decision. Our team runs a lot of data and numbers, to make sure that in five years our clients will still be happy with their decision, and see the equity in their home. With this, we have a lot of repeat and referral clients.

We also stay up to date. We are extremely technology-oriented. Our properties are showcased through professional photography and are then exposed to a database of over 150,000 people. We have demographically targeted ads, social media outlets, and a customized MLS platform.

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well-positioned for?
The opportunities for women are endless. I think that we are in a day and age where men know that we can do everything they can do and more.
